Why Photons are Mass Less ?? - Mathematical Explanation

Photons are the fundamental unit (quanta) of light. They have the unique property of being both particle and wave. They are often described as being "bundles of pure energy travelling at the speed of light". Also,In particle physics, a Photon is an elementary particle whose invariant mass is zero. But, there is always one question that arises in our mind , being a particle how can a Photon be mass-less ( Rest mass is 0 ) ??

To answer this question we have to take the help of Einstein's famous equation E=mc2 and Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle .
So, let's try to get the value of mass of a Photon through mathematics.
We know that,E=mc2 . So,
We know that, Range of interaction of Photon is infinite, so, R→∞
Thus, m= ћ/∞ = 0
Hope this will help you to understand why photons are mass-less. To know more about Mass-less Particle you can go through this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massless_particle
